Uncover 3016

Uncover 3016 is a five-person interdisciplinary project in the form of an interactive cross-media map. The outcome is a Risograph-printed two-layered map that, when viewed through the provided lenses, reveals both pre-war and contemporary versions of a Rotterdam neighbourhood, highlighting change and continuity. A supplementary sheet and online archive offer access to maps, stories, photographs, and key monuments from 1868 to 2024, inviting users to explore the area’s evolution. Collaborating with student from different majors, I focused on web design using Wix and co-designed the printed leaflet in Adobe InDesign, ensuring clarity, accessibility, and visual harmony across the platforms. The design’s contrasting colours, playful typefaces, and mobile-friendly interface make discovering Rotterdam’s layered history an engaging and inclusive experience. Special thanks to Vittoria Bordino, Charlott Boullon, Bozhidar Iliev and Leonie van den Berg for their collaboration on this project.
